Nepal is a rich and ancient country, famous for “Gurkha” and the Himalayas, Mount Everest, as well as the birth place of Buddha. The Gurkhas have been associated with the British Army since 1815 following the war with British in India.
Gurkha’s are best known for their history of bravery and strength in the British Army and Indian Army. Gurkhas were designated by British officials as a “Martial Race”. This was a designation of created by British officials to describe “races” that were brought to be naturally warlike and aggressive in battle, to possess qualities like courage, loyalty, self sufficiency, physical strength, resilience, orderliness, the ability to work hard for long period of time, fighting tenacity, and military strategy.
